Message from Dave McGregor (Coplestonians Youth FC)
I trust you and your families are all well and looking forwarding to returning to football.
We appreciate the 2020/21 season has been one unlike any other (we all hope). Substantial efforts and sacrifices, even beyond those during a usual season and especially by those individuals who undertake roles behind-the-scenes, have been required to ensure the matches we did play were compliant with the extraordinary and ever-changing requirements. The attitude and willingness of club officials to do everything needed to ensure players, officials and spectators enjoyed a safe football experience has been truly amazing, and a source of significant solace to participants amidst an otherwise awful year.
We look forward to continuing the good work previously shown to offer again the players and all who attend these matches enjoy the return to football.
The managers and coaches of your teams will be in contact with shortly with their plans on their return.
I have been very busy last few weeks trying to rearrange as many of the postponed and cancelled matches (230 rearranged to date) the aim is obviously to give the lads the opportunity to play as much football as possible (I will continue to try and arrange as many matches as I can before the season draws to a close on 15th May, I am hopefully that all age groups will play a minimum 75% of their league games)
Some teams will be looking at playing a few friendlies after 15th May in preparation for next season as many move format of football, 5 v 5 go to 7 v 7, 7 v 7 go to 9 v 9 and 9 v 9 move to 11 v 11.
These matches will be played either on the 3G Surface or at another ground as the grass pitches at Copleston School will not be available.

RETURN TO FOOTBALL GUIDANCE
|An update on the return of outdoor grassroots football|
The FA has provided an update on the return of outdoor grassroots football and support available to clubs across the grassroots football community.
On Monday 29 March, as part of the next stage of the Government’s roadmap out of national lockdown, outdoor sports facilities can open, and organised outdoor football can take place.
We have now published our updated guidance, based on the latest Government advice available, which applies to all youth and adult football and futsal, including all formats of the game. If there are any further updates from the Government, we will communicate these in due course. We will also update our guidance as we move through the different steps of the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown.
