Yani Duka grabbed Coplestonians a late goal to draw 1 – 1 at Bourne Vale after going down to to ten men as Lee Wilcox picked up a second yellow card.
It was a scrappy game, made ten times worse when the heavens opened up and torrential rain fell during the second half and was at one point close to being abandoned as the ball was stuck in surface water.
It was the hosts who took the lead midway into the second half as they made their extra man count slotting home inside the penalty box.
The visitors had a few chances to get onto the scoresheet with notably Jordan Godbold inches away from latching onto a cross but it was Yani Duka who came on as a second half substitute to find space down the left to whip a cross in that the hosts defence and keeper misread to end up in the net to give Cops a thoroughly deserved draw.
It was far from a classic game but credit to the lads who showed determination and character to get a draw in difficult circumstances with Sean Hanley standing out with a classy performance.
Next week its back at home with a game against Ransomes who are sitting 8th in the league after a 3-1 home win against Leiston St Margarets.
