Unbeaten League leaders Trimley hosted Senior Cup finalists Coplestonians who were still looking to pick up their first points of the season.

The confident home side looked sharp with Ryan Chidlow and Ross Driver posing problems for the Cops rearguard. Trimley hit the woodwork and had a goal disallowed for off-side as they had the better of the first period.

Cops had their chances as well but found Ben Punter in the home goal in good form as he saved from both Perrie Soanes and Yani Duka. Trimley were denied again when Ryan Beeston recovered to make a brilliant tackle on the Trimley forward who was clear through on goal.

After the break it was Cops who took control and when Soanes had his shirt pulled, a penalty was awarded. However, Punter saved Duka’s spot kick with the loose ball being cleared.

Cops continued to dominate with the home side relying on the occasional break. Ben Golding was a tireless runner and after chasing a long ball delivered a perfect cross for Jordan Godbold to head home. Good work by Sean Hanley and Beeston saw the full back cross for Harry Cole to head Cops into a two goal lead.

The home side pushed forward but were unable to trouble John Houchill in the Cops goal.
