The Reserves put in a decent performance for a 4-1 SIL League A win on Saturday against Capel Plough; Greg Abbott providing match report

The A’s unfortunately went down 3-2 at Claydon FC A in the SIL League B – Cops goals came from Alfie Prior and Matthew Rutterford.

Into the Norfolk and Suffolk Veterans League Cup and the Cops Vets were at fourth division Henley Athletic. The score was 3 – 3 after 90 minutes only for the Cops to lose 3-1 on penalties. The three scorers for Cops were Jon Birch, Dennis Tennial and Darren Dowson. Meanwhile the Vets Reserves had a tough match at Suffolk Police and lost 11-1. The scorer for Coplestonians was Michael Vilka.

The first weekend of the Suffolk Girls and Women Football League got underway today.

It was wins for the U16, U15, U13 Oaks and an impressive 7-0 win for the U13 Girls at Stanway who started with just nine players and ended up with eight after a player had to come off injured. It was a hatrick for Phoebe Duffin, two from Tegan Page and a goal each for Magdalena Ryan and Maddi Steward.

The Under 11 Girls win 5-1 at Stanway Infernos side. From the U11 manager Nathan “Great start to the season from Cops U11 against a strong Stanway side. Excellent to see the girls playing some lovely passing football. Solid in defence and quick on the break, the girls all worked tirelessly from start to finish in hot conditions. The U14 Girls lost 4-2 at home to Ipswich Exiles despite goals from Libby Abbott and Megan McCrae-Robinson.
